BVI Post
Our mission is to build continued confidence in the postal communication by providing efficient and dependable mail services.
Letter box holders can now resume collection of their mail from their assigned BVI Post letter boxes at the location across from the Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex.
Acting Post Master General Mrs. Iris Romney said letter box holders of numbers 1 to 4347 in the Road Town area can resume the use of their boxes from December 11.
Mrs. Romney said, “Letter box holders are to return the keys for the old letter boxes and collect the new keys at the General Post Office located in the Maduro Building in Road Town.” She added that if persons are unable to return the old key, they will be required to pay a deposit of $20.00 for the new key.
The rental of letter boxes are available at various locations throughout the Territory including Cane Garden Bay, Sea Cows Bay, West End, Cappoons Bay, Jost Van D**e, Anegada; and Valley or North Sound, Virgin Gorda. Interested persons can apply for a letter box at the General Post Office or at any of the postal offices in their area.

World Post Day
World Post Day is celebrated on October 9 annually. The Universal Postal Union (UPU) was established in 1874 with its headquarters in Berne, Switzerland. It was declared by the UPU Congress held in Tokyo, Japan in 1969. The purpose is to educate people about how postal offices around the world have helped further global communications and make everyone more connected with one another. It also helps to bring awareness to the Post's role in the everyday lives of people and businesses, as well as its contribution to global social and economic development. Before the days of the internet, people would have a really hard time getting letters and packages to one another due to international policies regarding mail. The Universal Postal Union has helped advance mailing services by removing the international barriers that previously constrained it. World Post Day celebrates this treaty, as it has now helped shape the way people can send and receive mail.
On World Post Day, we recognize the BVI Post Staff.
