“When in Hanoi” art prints series provide a glimpse into the everyday life of people in Hanoi, from slurping down a bowl of pho at a favorite noodle stall to practising tai chi around the Hoan Kiem Lake or riding around the streets of Hanoi on a rainy day. These are how local people seek quiet joy in their daily life.

The series is a collaboration between Nicki Sticki, a former Hanoi resident artist and Collective Memory.

// THE ARMCHAIR TRAVELLER //

Not only are chairs common household furnishings but also marks of social and economic changes.

There are more to those humble home accents than just meet the eyes. From the graceful horseshoe armchair dating back to the Ming Dynasty to the Vietnamese art deco reclining lounge chairs, it’s no wonder how chairs have shaped much of our lives throughout history.

A customer named Lauren from New York City shared with us a story when she first saw the art print which now lands at her mother’s house in Florida: “Due to physical difficulties, my mom living in Florida is unable to travel with us. But she’s the one who has always done the research and planned our trips throughout the years. Imagine places such as Dubai, Japan, Cambodia and Vietnam and she has ever been to none of those places. But it’s always fun to follow her itinerary which constantly surprises us. We see places, eat the food and meet the people as if she’s there with us. So mom is definitely an armchair traveller!” She smiled with hands holding her mom’s Vietnam itinerary printed from her email.
