Văn hóa cà phê của Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh từ lâu là sân khấu của sự thử nghiệm — nơi những người sáng lập đẩy ranh giới về không gian, khái niệm và trải nghiệm đồng thời. BOSGAURUS, một nhà rang xay cà phê tại Quận 1, tiếp cận quán của mình với sự rõ ràng hiếm có: đây không phải là quán cà phê có vài bao cà phê trưng bày. Đây là một nhà rang xay trước tiên, một quán cà phê thứ hai, và không gian phải nói điều đó một cách trung thực.

TẦM NHÌN

Nhiệm vụ thiết kế là rõ ràng: tạo ra môi trường phản ánh chất lượng công nghiệp của hoạt động rang xay — trọng lượng, độ chính xác, quy trình — trong khi vẫn chào đón khách hàng bán lẻ đến uống ly cà phê và tìm hiểu về cà phê. Nhà thiết kế đã chọn bảng vật liệu được xác định bởi sự thành thật: không có vật liệu ốp lát, không giả cổ điển. Chỉ có bề mặt thực, được xử lý thành thật.

VẬT LIỆU

NOVACOLOR BETON DECOR là lựa chọn trung tâm — bê tông trang trí này tái tạo tính thẩm mỹ công nghiệp với sự kiểm soát mà bê tông thực không thể mang lại. Kết cấu đặc trưng của nó — thô nhám, có độ sâu, không đồng đều — phản ánh hoạt động rang xay xảy ra ngay trong không gian. Sàn được xử lý với hệ thống NOVACOLOR liền mạch tương thích, kéo dài ngôn ngữ bê tông qua toàn bộ diện tích sàn mà không có mạch hở hay điểm dễ vỡ. Hiệu ứng tổng thể là một không gian cảm thấy được xây dựng để làm việc thực sự.

KẾT QUẢ

BOSGAURUS trở thành một trong những quán cà phê được chụp ảnh nhiều nhất tại Quận 1 — nhưng không phải vì bất kỳ yếu tố nào được thiết kế để chụp ảnh. Không gian đẹp vì nó trung thực. Vật liệu NOVACOLOR lão hóa tốt theo thời gian, phát triển bề mặt patina tự nhiên làm sâu sắc thêm tính thẩm mỹ của không gian. Đây là thử nghiệm thực sự của bất kỳ thông số kỹ thuật vật liệu thương mại nào: liệu nó có trở nên tốt hơn theo thời gian sử dụng không?

Ho Chi Minh City's café culture has long been a theatre of experimentation — but few spaces have elevated the ritual of coffee to the level of material poetry. In the heart of District 1, Bosgaurus Coffee Roasters required a space that could hold both the rawness of industrial craft and the refinement of specialty coffee. NU Architecture envisioned a 200 sqm interior where every surface would become part of the sensory narrative. The brief was clear: no ceramic, no paint — only continuous surfaces, in perpetual dialogue with natural light.

THE VISION

The concept behind Bosgaurus was one of honest materiality. NU Architecture sought to dissolve the boundary between floor and wall, between craft and architecture, between space and experience. The seamless envelope they imagined demanded a system capable of flowing across planes without interruption — fluid, monolithic, alive. It was a space designed not to be looked at, but to be inhabited.

THE MATERIALS

NOVACOLOR WALL2FLOOR was selected as the defining material of the project. This high-performance microcement system, developed in Italy and distributed exclusively in Vietnam by NORA DESIGN ITALIANO, delivers a seamless, jointless finish across both vertical and horizontal surfaces — eliminating any visual interruption in the spatial flow. Its mineral texture and matte depth create an atmosphere of warm restraint, perfectly calibrated to the brand identity of a specialty roaster. Applied by certified technicians, WALL2FLOOR offers full resistance to moisture, foot traffic, and the thermal cycles typical of Vietnam's tropical climate.

THE RESULT

The finished space is a study in controlled intensity. The continuous NOVACOLOR envelope absorbs and refracts light throughout the day, shifting from cool morning grey to warm afternoon amber — a living backdrop to the choreography of brewing and conversation. Bosgaurus has since become one of HCMC's most-referenced hospitality interiors, a reference point for how material honesty can define brand identity at the highest level.
