This week, staff members from various units across the University of the South Pacific (USP) Samoa Campus came together to complete a comprehensive First Aid Training course, successfully conducted by the Samoa Red Cross.

From campus security to academic and administrative teams, the staff are now fully equipped with lifesaving skills to ensure a safer environment for students, visitors, and colleagues.

Our sincere thanks to the USP management for organizing this initiative, and a huge thank you to the Samoa Red Cross instructors for facilitating this vital training. Congratulations to all the participants! Together, we're building a safer, more prepared USP community 🎓

The marathon is officially on, and every single step is dedicated to raising crucial funds for the Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG). From the starting line to the final stretch in Apia, we are pushing our limits to support SVSG’s 5 24/7 lifeline shelters and community programs.
🩹 Your safety is our priority: While our runners go the distance for a great cause, the Samoa Red Cross First Aiders are on the spot along the entire course, ready to assist and keep everyone safe, hydrated, and moving forward! 🚑❤️

Over the last two weeks, the Samoa Red Cross Society conducted an intensive 2-week First Aid Training course for the students at Pesega TVET.

Equipping our community with the knowledge to respond in emergencies is at the heart of what we do. Congratulations to all the participants who stepped up, practiced hard, and are now officially certified to save lives! 🩺🏽

This week, the Samoa Red Cross Society team successfully conducted our Community Disaster and Climate Risk Management (CDCRM) training in Iva, Savaii.
Disaster preparedness isn't just about plans; it’s about making sure everyone is safe, healthy, informed, and included. We were incredibly fortunate to have a powerful, coordinated team of frontline services, health professionals, climate scientists, and government partners working directly with the sub-villages, chiefs, women's committees, and youth of Iva:

🚒 SFESA & 👮 Ministry of Police sharing vital emergency rescue and community safety strategies.
🌦️ Samoa Meteorology Division (MNRE) providing critical early warning climate information and weather tracking tools.
🌾 ADRA Samoa and the DMO aligning village response plans with national disaster frameworks.
🩺 Ministry of Health & 🏥 Samoa Family Health Association providing essential public health guidance, medical readiness, and health safety tips for emergencies.🧠 Our Mental Health partners highlighting psychosocial support and well-being during crises.
