Samoa Association of Sign Language Interpreters (SASLI) had the honour of conducting a Sign Language Training Session today for Public Health Workers at the Ministry of Health, in commemoration of International Deaf Week 2025 under the global theme: “No Human Rights Without Sign Language Rights.”
This collaboration between SASLI and the Ministry of Health is a significant step towards ensuring that the Deaf community in Samoa can access health services that are equitable, inclusive, and responsive to their communication needs.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the New Zealand High Commission to Samoa for their generous financial support, which made this initiative possible. ✨
Fa’afetai tele lava to our health professionals for their commitment to inclusivity and their willingness to embrace Sign Language as a bridge to better health outcomes for all. 👏
