To avoid mosquitoes breeding, you need to eliminate or manage standing water, which is where mosquitoes lay their eggs. Here’s a list of what to do:

🧼 Eliminate Standing Water

Mosquitoes breed in still water—even tiny amounts. Do this regularly:

✅ Empty and clean water containers (buckets, pots, flower vases, pet bowls)
✅ Cover water storage containers tightly.
✅ Turn over items that can collect water (e.g. wheelbarrows, lids, unused tires, boats).
✅ Unclog gutters and drains to prevent pooling water.
✅ Check plant saucers and keep them dry
✅ Dispose of trash properly (especially containers and plastic items that hold water).

🌿 Maintain Your Yard:

✅ Trim grass and shrubs – mosquitoes hide in shady, humid areas.
✅ Fill holes in trees or ground where water collects.

🚫 Use Barriers and Repellents:

✅ Install window and door screens.
✅ Use mosquito nets and repellents (DEET, picaridin, lemon eucalyptus oil).
✅ Use outdoor mosquito traps or larvicidal dunks in water bodies that can’t be drained.
