ALVAREZ AND MARTINEZ SEND ARGENTINA TO WORLD CUP SEMIS AGAINST ENGLAND! 🔥

Argentina booked their place in the World Cup semi finals with a dramatic 3 1 extra time win over Switzerland in a game full of tension and late drama.

Alexis Mac Allister gave Argentina the perfect start in the 10th minute when he headed home a teasing Lionel Messi corner to make it the earliest Argentina goal at a World Cup since 2014.

Switzerland did not back down and grew into the game in the second half with Dan Ndoye leveling in the 67th minute with a cool finish under Emiliano Martinez.

The match turned just five minutes later when Breel Embolo received a second yellow card for simulation after a VAR review and Switzerland were reduced to 10 men.

Both teams pushed for a winner in normal time but could not break through which meant extra time was needed in Atlanta.

Julian Alvarez chose the perfect moment to score his first World Cup goal since 2022 with a stunning curling strike into the top corner in the 105th minute.

Nine minutes later Alvarez pressed high won the ball off Granit Xhaka and Thiago Almada shot was parried by Gregor Kobel before Lautaro Martinez tapped in the rebound to seal it.

Messi did not score but he picked up another assist to reach 10 World Cup assists which is the most by any player since 1966.

Argentina now have 11 wins in 13 World Cup matches that went to extra time which is more than any other nation in history.

Argentina will now face England in the semi final on July 15 after both teams won in extra time.

It sets up a blockbuster clash and Argentina are now just 90 minutes away from another World Cup final.

JUDE BELLINGHAM DOES IT AGAIN FOR ENGLAND! 🔥

England survive another World Cup scare and are into the semi finals after a 2 1 extra time win over Norway in Miami.

Norway struck first in the 36th minute through Andreas Schjelderup whose deflected cross beat Jordan Pickford.

England responded right before half time as Bellingham drifted away from his marker and finished cooly into the bottom corner.
The game was tight in the second half with Pickford denying Erling Haaland and a Norway goal ruled out after VAR spotted a push on Elliot Anderson.

In extra time England came out fast and Bellingham pounced in the 93rd minute after Nyland spilled Morgan Rogers long range shot to make it 2 1.

That goal puts Bellingham on six non penalty goals at this World Cup matching Gary Linekers record from 1986 and he is now the youngest player since Pele in 1958 to score in back to back World Cup knockout games.

England also made history off the pitch with Pickford earning his 18th World Cup cap the most ever for a Three Lions player and Harry Kane playing his 120th international to equal Wayne Rooney.

England keptErling Haaland off the scoresheet for the first time in a competitive international since October 2024 and will now face either Argentina or Switzerland in Atlanta for a place in the final.

The magic man delivers again and England are 90 minutes from the World Cup final.
