LGSETA Creating Greater Impact

At the 3rd Annual Local Government Summit, the SAIGA Council President officially opened the summit by unpacking this year’s theme and setting the tone for critical discussions on strengthening local government.

In his address, he highlighted key priorities for municipalities to build resilient and effective institutions:

1. Capable institutions with capable leadership.
2. Professionalising and building capacity in local government, where LGSETA and South African Local Government Association have a critical role to play.
3. Promoting a culture of ethical and accountable institutions.

These priorities remain central to building a capable, ethical and developmental local government sector that delivers meaningful impact for communities.

This morning, we proudly welcomed home the second group of our international scholarship recipients returning from China for their summer break.

Also among the arrivals were our SME participants, back from a six-month Sister City SME Programme in China, bringing back valuable global business insights.

A proud moment for LGSETA as we continue building skills, creating opportunities and shaping future leaders.
