And we’re off!

A few weeks ago took to the streets of Johannesburg to begin celebrating 30 years of the Johannesburg Inner City Partnership – and what a fantastic few hours it was.

Starting at the Rand Club, we were joined by Joburg Photo Walkers and some of our SEF participants who, like the JICP, turn 30 this year, for an adventure through the inner city along the Walkable Network.

We walked, talked, took photographs, shared stories and saw the city through each other’s eyes. Our participants got behind the cameras too, capturing the places and moments that caught their attention along the way – and judging by the smiles, everyone had a pretty good time doing it!

A huge thank you to Joburg Photowalkers for walking with us, sharing their love of photography and creating such a buzz around the city, and to everyone who joined us and made the morning so memorable. A big thanks to Mark Straw for assisting us with the photowalkers arrangements.

This is just the beginning. Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing more of the people, places and stories that make up Johannesburg’s inner city as we celebrate JICP’s 30 years – and look ahead to what comes next.

Thirty years. One extraordinary city. Plenty more adventures to come.
