Meet the Team: Robin Shuttleworth

Robin’s professional audio career spans 45 years.
From touring the country with the international artists of the time, during the heyday of the iconic 3 Arts Theatre, he moved on to the Performing Arts Councils, working with Theatre Consultants and forming functional Sound Departments. It was during his tenure at the Natal Playhouse that he became an integral part of the South African Musical Theatre scene, collaborating with the late Geoffrey Sutherland and designing the Sound on top productions such as Queen at the Opera, JC Superstar, Sweeny Todd and many more. The pinnacle of his career was his appointment as Sound HOD to Singapore’s state-of-the-art The Esplanade Theatres On The Bay, host to the world’s premium performers, where he worked closely with major audio manufacturers to create and improve their products.
There he also established and lectured his Sound Course for Singaporean technicians.
After 15 incredible years at The Esplanade he returned to Cape Town where he continues to teach future Sound Technicians.
