*The Open Mosque* in Cape Town, in conjunction with *MECO* (Muslim Educational Centre of Oxford), is proudly hosting - following the horrendous murder of an unarmed African American in Minnesota last month - a timely online discussion into the most pressing questions of our time on *Tuesday, 30th June 2020 at 7pm UK time / 8pm SA time.*

What is the right response of the Abrahamic faiths to racism, inequality and discrimination? What do the sacred scriptures of Judaism, Christianity and Islam say about prejudice and bigotry? What, if any, pragmatic solutions do these three great monotheistic religions offer in resolving the intractable issues of racism and bias? These and other pertinent questions will be honestly addressed in a trailblazing zoom seminar this coming Tuesday evening.

*Four acclaimed international theologians* from the USA, UK, South Africa and Georgia representing Judaism, Eastern Christianity, Western Christianity and Islam will candidly dissect their respective traditions and offer some substantive solutions to the enduring human fixations about race, colour and creed.

This week, *Dr Taj Hargey*– the President of the Open Mosque and the Provost of the Oxford Institute for British Islam – addresses the international virtual Jumu'ah on *THE TOTAL TRANSCENDENCE OF THE HOLY QUR'AN*

Most Muslims have been conditioned by a self-serving clergy that Islam's sacred scripture is deficient and incomplete. They have been programmed to believe that the man-made hadith, the manufactured shari'ah and the expedient fatwahs complement the divine text, when in reality, they invariably *contradict* the Holy Qur'an. The sermon as usual, incorporates topical aspects of Qur'anic theology as well as salient coverage of world affairs and contemporary issues. After the formal prayers, there will be a 20-minute Q&A session.
