The statutory deadline for submitting your annual Return of Earnings (ROE) to the Compensation Fund for the 2025/2026 assessment period is 30 June 2026.
The online submission window commenced on 1 April 2026 and is applicable to all South African employers, including households employing domestic workers.

Key deadlines and dates for 2026 are as follows:

Opening Date: 1 April 2026, Submission
Deadline: 30 June 2026.
A late penalty of 10% will be automatically applied to your assessed amount if the submission is made after the 30 June deadline.
Interest will accrue on any outstanding assessment amounts if not paid within 30 days of the assessment notice.
Critical compliance updates include the requirement to complete and submit the Confirmation of Employer Registration Details Form when filing; failure to do so may result in submissions being considered incomplete.
It is mandatory to submit a Return of Earnings even if your business experienced no injuries or minimal payroll, as failure to comply will result in penalties.

Your Letter of Good Standing, required for securing business contracts or tenders, will only be issued once your ROE has been submitted and your assessment paid in full or an arrangement made.
