ACTS: The Church in Motion – Part Four

This Sunday, Mike continued our series, ACTS: The Church in Motion, focusing on God's perfect timing.

The Healing at the temple gate

Acts 3:1–8
We read about the man who had been lame from birth and was carried every day to the temple gate to beg. On this particular day, Peter and John met him and, instead of giving him money, Peter declared:
"Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."

Peter took the man by the hand, and instantly he was healed. His feet and ankles became strong, and he entered the temple walking, jumping, and praising God.
Mike asked the question: "By whose faith was he healed?"
Often, people assume that healing depends solely on the faith of the person who is sick. But this passage reminds us that God's power and His timing are not limited by our understanding. This man had been sitting at the temple gate day after day. Many people may have prayed for him over the years. Yet his healing came on this specific day, at this specific moment.
It wasn't because He did or didn't have faith—it was because God's timing was perfect.

A Miracle with a Purpose

Acts 3:12–16
The miracle wasn't just for the man, it created an opportunity for the Gospel to be shared.
As the amazed crowd gathered, Peter made it clear that the healing was not because of his own power or holiness, but because of Jesus Christ.
He boldly proclaimed that the same Jesus who had been rejected and crucified had been raised from the dead, and that it was faith in the name of Jesus that had brought healing to the man everyone knew.
The miracle became a doorway for people to encounter Christ.

God is never late. His timing is always purposeful, even when we don't understand it.
Sometimes we pray and wait much longer than we expect, but our waiting is never wasted. God sees the bigger picture, and He often works in ways that not only transform our lives but also point others to Him.
Just as the healing at the Temple Gate opened the door for Peter to share the Gospel, God can use every breakthrough, every delay, every challenge, and every testimony to reveal His glory.

As we continue through Acts, we're reminded to trust God's timing, remain faithful in every season, and be ready to point people to Jesus whenever He provides the opportunity.

SUNDAY MORNING
Our Sundays at Frontier Church always look a little bit different, but these things remain constant: the love, the community, and the feeling of family.
Walking through our doors feels less like attending an Church and more like arriving at a big family gathering. You'll find people of all ages catching up over conversations about their week, sharing laughs, encouraging one another, and children running around making friends and and a joyful noise. It's a place where everyone belongs.
A special thank you to Johan for sharing such a warm welcome and setting the tone for the morning. Our time of worship was beautiful as we gathered together to lift our hearts to God.
The children had an amazing time with Aunty Shelley in Children's Ministry, while Aunty Paula led the youth through a meaningful session better suited for each level .
Thank you to everyone who joined us this Sunday. Whether it was your first time or you've been part of the Frontier family for years, we're so grateful you were with us. We can't wait to do it all again next Sunday!

"Sunday morning there was a huge excitement in our home! Due to being unwell our family couldn't go the week before and so we had missed everyone a lot. The children couldn't wait to go to children's ministry and I could not wait to see all my faith family.

Many are away being school holidays but it lifted my spirits to see those who were there. The warm greetings, laughter and general banter shared is so uplifting.

Mike opened the morning by teasing Pastor Mike and Carel and Alison invited people to join their team. It was lovely to watch and it really highlighted to me that we are 'better together'.

There was also a lot of prayer for those who are going through a time of persecution and our country.

This led into Mike's Message part 3 of ACTS: The Church In Motion.
In children's church Aunty Veda spoke about being brave. The children loved coloring in the picture she had prepared for them.

Looking around at the people enjoying fellowship and tea, children playing and sitting in such a relaxing place, my soul was replenished and heart full."

FATHER’S DAY

This Sunday, we celebrated fathers, father figures, spiritual dads, and all of the awesome men in our church community.

The morning started with one of our young adults welcoming everyone and sharing a thoughtful message to all the dads. Mike opened in prayer, which led straight into our time of worship. You could feel the authenticity as each member sang and praised God.

This week we took a break from the ACTS series for Father’s Day. Mike's message was standalone and was about running the race, comparing the church to a marathon. He spoke about his experience running the Comrades and said that in a marathon you encourage the other runners; you keep each other going.

That is what we should be like as believers, we should motivate, walk alongside, and help each other to the finish line. Too many people tend to judge one another or criticize when someone makes a mistake. Instead, Mike encouraged everyone to extend grace and understanding, just as you would offer a helping hand to a fellow runner who stumbles.

He emphasized the importance of community and support, highlighting how our collective strength can uplift individuals. This was a helpful reminder to us all that our journey of faith doesn't have to be solitary, but where we can draw upon each other's strengths and compassion.

Hebrews 12:1-2 - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.

Acts 2:42-47 - All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity. All the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

Our theme for Father’s Day was Camping, fishing and everything outdoorsy. After the service, each gentleman received a packet of ‘Live Bait’ (A.K.A Sour Worms), just a little gift to show them our appreciation. We also set up a rusk and coffee station for everyone to enjoy.
