Some of the Banded Snouted Cobras making their appearance this morning! This was a colab breeding with Reptiles, Rodents & Racks 4 Africa. There should be 16 hatchlings total with some still to pip! There is quite a back story to this...

We purchased an adult reverse trio from Jurie Wahl 3 years back and they were second generation captive breds from Craig van Rensburg at the time. We gifted one male to Reptile, Rodents & Racks 4 Africa at the time as he was spare. The first season we lost our male due to spinal cancer. The second season we spoke about breeding together but due to circumstances we couldnt make it happen.

This year we fortunately were able to fly the male up from KZN, breed the pair succesfully and got 36 eggs. The female though this was an exciting game and rolled the clutch around the cage leading to the loss of the majority of the clutch.

However, here they are and they are STUNNING!! For those who are interested in the incubation process we cooked them at 28.5 degrees and they hatched on day 60!
