The Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) has officially marked 100 days to go until the opening of its 13th biennial trade exhibition and airshow, reaching a significant milestone in the lead-up to Africa's premier event for the aerospace and defence industries.

The 100-Day Countdown celebration brought together approximately 150 senior guests from government, the defence and aerospace industry, diplomatic missions, strategic partners, and the media at a high-level stakeholder engagement event held today.

Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Angie Motshekga, delivered the keynote address to commemorate the occasion.

AAD attracts more than 40,000 visitors per day, solidifying its position as the continent's leading platform for innovation, collaboration, and growth across the aerospace, aviation, maritime, and defence sectors.

Following the countdown celebration, members of the media have been invited to attend a briefing at the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) building. The briefing will provide updates on preparations for AAD 2026, key programme highlights, industry participation, and expectations for the upcoming exhibition and airshow.

The media briefing will also offer an opportunity for engagement with AAD leadership and partners regarding the impact and significance of the event as a catalyst for sector development.

Venue for media briefing: Ronnie Mamoepa Media Centre, Tshedimosetso House, Hatfield, Pretoria.

The 13th biennial Africa Aerospace and Defence trade exhibition and airshow is expected to draw exhibitors and visitors from across the globe when it opens later this year..

Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa Shipokosa Paulus Mashatile together with the South African delegation visit the Dilli Haat in New Delhi.

The Working Visit to India seeks to strengthen bilateral relations between South Africa and India, deepen economic cooperation and attract greater investment opportunities.
