Government Services and Youth Opportunities Delivered Through Outreach Programme in Roossenekal

In a strong demonstration of commitment to youth empowerment and community development, the Office of the Mayor, through the Youth Desk, brought vital government services and opportunities directly to the young people of Roossenekal during a dynamic Youth Outreach Programme held at the Roossenekal Community Hall.

In his welcome address, Cllr Tobius Malope expressed appreciation to all attendees and stakeholders, emphasising the importance of youth development as a cornerstone of sustainable community growth. He welcomed participants and encouraged young people to make full use of the services and opportunities made available through the initiative, noting that such platforms play a critical role in connecting youth with government departments and development agencies committed to improving their social and economic well-being.

The outreach programme convened young people, government departments, and development agencies in a coordinated effort to improve access to opportunities, essential services, and youth development programmes that support sustainable community growth.

A range of stakeholders participated in the programme, including the Compliance Office, Department of Labour, Local Economic Development (LED), National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), Department of Home Affairs, and the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC). These institutions provided information and support on employment opportunities, entrepreneurship development, compliance matters, civic participation, identity documentation, voter education, and broader youth empowerment initiatives.

The programme reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment, together with its partners, to strengthening sustainable platforms that promote youth development, active citizenship, and economic inclusion.

The municipality extended its sincere gratitude to all participating departments, stakeholders, and community members for their valuable contributions to the success of the programme.
