Sixteen-year-old modern pentathlon star Daniel Grové from the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley has continued his remarkable rise by producing a standout performance at the UIPM Pentathlon World Cup Final in Budapest, Hungary.

It was cause for celebration for all those involved in the project, including the five sculptors – and champagne corks popped as the last piece was secured in position.
Towards the end of last year, a call was made by the Swallow Park revitalisation committee for local artists to make submissions for the five designated sculpture sites in the revamped garden. The only stipulation was that they should reflect a fynbos focus. Eight proposals were received, and the judges were faced with the difficult task of selecting only five.
