Once again, we bring to you good news about the Green Learn2Earn Competition that will run across South Africa, creating more opportunities for young people to gain valuable skills, earn recognised certificates, and compete for exciting prizes!

Additionally, the nationwide community outreach campaign kicks off in Grahamstown Makhanda, where we will be working directly with young people to help them register https://atlas.org.za/learn2earn/ for FREE online courses and start their learning journey.

What: Makhanda Community Outreach

Time: 09:30 – 13:00
Where: Noluthando Community Hall, Joza, Makhanda.

Our team will be on-site to assist participants with:
✅ Registering on the YOMA platform
✅ Enrolling in free Green Learn2Earn courses
✅ Completing their first learning modules

The office looked a little different on Friday as we had the privilege of being invited to join uMngeni Local Municipality for their World Environment Day 2026 celebration 🌍

Under the theme “Our Planet, Our Responsibility”, it was special to be part of this meaningful event and get the opportunity to engage with schools and partners in conversations on environmental stewardship and sustainable practice. Events like these are a valuable reminder of the importance of collaboration in accelerating action for the environment🍃

We were pleased to showcase aspects of GroundTruth’s work, while also learning from others and gaining insight into the wide range of initiatives currently shaping the sector, including some of our long-time partners WESSA Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa, DUCT Rivers, uMngeni-uThukela Water, and others♻️

A particular highlight was the inspiring performances by local schools. Learners presented their environmental education projects with remarkable creativity and enthusiasm, with several schools receiving well deserved recognition for their efforts 👏

It was a truly memorable day “at the office”, involving learning, connection, and a shared commitment to safeguarding our environment for future generations 🌱
