POLYLINE | Integrated line application of polymer-based AM technologies 11/06/2026

Digitalized production lines for the automotive industry.

Have you heard of POLYLINE?
It's a project that brings together 15 industrial and research partners, including a couple of our partners — EOS & DyeMansion — to develop a next generation digitized production line that produces plastic components for the automotive industry. The aim is to use conventional manufacturing techniques (e.g. B. machining, casting, etc.) with additive manufacturing (AM) in the form of high-throughput line production systems.

As part of the project, the EOS P 500 will be equipped with fully automatic loading of the removable frames as well as monitoring in real time. The AM system is converted into a fully automatic powder conveying incl. Sieving, mixing and conditioning of the material embedded. EOS is the consortium leader and is responsible for overall project management together with Fraunhofer IML.

The product portfolio of the Munich post-processing specialists consists of solutions for cleaning, surface treatment and colouring of additively manufactured plastic parts. As part of the POLYLINE project, DyeMansion brings a special process for UV-stable, certified automotive paints according to ISO 105 B06 as well as Industry 4.0-capable solutions for cleaning and mechanical surface treatment by the specially developed PolyShot Surfacing (PSS) process. The connectivity and MES connection of the DyeMansion print-to-product platform is also part of the project.
