📖 EARLY JUNE 1976
The classrooms of Soweto were filled with growing frustration.
The apartheid government had ordered that Mathematics, Social Studies, and other subjects be taught in Afrikaans alongside English. For many black students, Afrikaans was not just another language—it was the language of oppression.
Students felt their voices were being ignored, their futures being controlled, and their right to quality education being denied.
What began as frustration in classrooms would soon become a movement that changed South African history.
