SERENDIPITY AT ITS BEST: IT'S SOUTH AFRICA BABY! πŸ€™πŸ½ edition

Chapter 1: From Shark Cage Diving to Scuba Diving With Sharks? (Not Quite, Close Enough)

On this casual yet fateful afternoon, AndrΓ©s & Yanyi couldn't go to shark cage diving due to the weather. Before returning to the car, they walked into a diving shop that ultimately became their favorite spot in Mossel Bay along the Garden Route. The dive shop owner/instructors Leanne and her son Josh were once friendly strangers who turned into dear family friends!

Leanne captivated Yanyi & Andres with her sense of humor, charisma and helpful nature. Even without committing to a course on the spot, she recommended a local sightseeing spot (Cave of the Human Origin). When Yanyi & Andres decided to spontaneously take on scuba diving certification, Leanne introduced Josh to instruct us! Having only learned to swim in Brazil less than a month ago, Yanyi appreciated Josh's patience and Andres appreciated his merticulous teaching method!

Okay, this post is sounding more and more like a TripAdvisor review πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ let's reel it back and cut to the chase:

Dear Leanne & JoshπŸ€—, you're our highlight in South Africa! Thank you for sharing your ZA sense of humor & lived experiences, those delicious meals & teas & coffee, offering your home, braving the brutal cold water of Mossel Bay πŸ˜‰, taking endless photos 😘, checking in daily with weather report, encouraging us every step of the way, making sure we feel at home and receive our Naui Open Water certificates! Another gorgeous gastropod caught on camera at Mitch reef by , the aptly named Gasflame nudibranch (Bonisa nakaza) - we've been asked by many, why all the psychedelics, are these little guys toxic or is it just for our diving pleasure? Well, the short answer is, some of them are, many vividly coloured creatures use colour to demonstrate the potency of their toxin compounds, which may be manufactured by themselves, some of the toxins they extracy from their spongey diet. Generally, nudibranchs are non-toxic to humans, however, this does not mean you should touch them... so from us to you - DO NOT touch... but you're welcome to wear them... check out our first range of Nudi-apparel at scubanudi.com - link in bio -
