Yesterday we had the honour to visit this young man and listen to his truly inspiring story. Luyanda has during the past two years, alongside his studies at TSIBA Business University, been running an internet café in Phillippi, a township in Cape Town. This internet café is not only a place where people can come to get online and print documents, it is also a space where kids get the chance to spend their time after school to do their homework and to learn computer skills. Having computer skills may make the difference for getting a job in the future for these children who often don't get access to a computer in school or at home. This is also a way to spark their curiosity, to learn about what is going on in the world, and to keep them off the streets.

Luyanda has a sharp business mind and he knows that he could go far if he entered the corporate world after finishing his studies at TSIBA, but what really matters to him is to give back to his community, and that is how he choose to use his skills and talent. He believes that this is what social entrepreneurship is all about, and he wish to inspire more people to start seeing problems as opportunities and to understand that it is possible to be successful with something that also benefits society. Filippa and Ylwa first met in Berlin in the summer of 2012 at a Theory-U course, facilitated by the author Otto Scharmer. "Are you listening, or are you waiting to speak?" is a quote by Otto that stuck within them both after the course and connected them in endless conversations afterwards. Somewhere during these conversations their business Listen Loud started to take shape. If it was over a cup of tea in Stockholm, while skinny-dipping in Århus, or while biking around Amsterdam, they can't tell for sure. Since they both realized that they hold quite an exceptional listening-talent, and telling and listening to stories is what they spend most of their time doing anyway, starting a storytelling business called Listen Loud just fell quiet naturally. Listen Loud is basically an expression of who they are, what they love doing and their shared belief that in this world of information overload, where everything is going in high-speed, there is a need to take the time to stop and listen to what is unfolding, within yourself and the world around you. Listen empathically, deeply and loudly.
