Saving the World from Bad Design 🚀
I recently worked on a quick win improvement for Complete Communications, and I'm excited to share the transformation! 🎉
Issues with the Existing Logo:
Readability:
↳The font used was difficult to read, especially from a distance or at smaller sizes.
Color Contrast:
↳The text and background contrast needed enhancement for better visibility.
Modern Design:
↳The overall design felt a bit dated and could benefit from a more modern, streamlined look.
Visual Hierarchy:
↳The visual hierarchy needed improvement to make the brand name stand out more prominently.
Improvements in the Redesigned Logo:
↳New Symbol:
A symmetric composition formed from a visual play on the "C C" letterforms, adding a unique and recognizable element to the brand.
Clear Typography:
↳The new design uses a clean, modern font that improves readability and gives a more professional appearance.
Better Contrast:
↳Enhanced color contrast between the text and the background for improved visibility.
Contemporary Aesthetic:
↳The redesigned logo no longer feels dated, ensuring it remains relevant and effective while maintaining the brand’s essence.
↳Visual Balance:
Improved visual hierarchy ensures that “Complete Communications” stands out effectively, making a strong impression.
This isn’t a full rebrand or strategy, just a small step in my mission to save the world from bad design. If you’re ready to elevate your brand, let’s connect!

A "free trial" that requires your credit card details isn’t free—it’s a trap!
Find out why relying on "slippage" to boost profits damages your brand authenticity.
I recently received this message from Franklin Tavarez who I'm sure would most likely be a LinkedIn Bot:
"Hi there, Brendon!
I’m Franklin from the LinkedIn Premium team. We’d like to offer you a 1-month free trial of Premium to grow your career faster."
NO THANKS! (& Every other Co.)

As a brand designer, I've seen the fallout when brands use deceptive tactics like credit card-required free trials. While it might generate short-term gains, it severely damages brand authenticity and trust.
Here's why deceptive free trials are a bad strategy for brands:
1. Erodes Trust:
Customers feel deceived when unexpected charges appear. Trust is hard to rebuild once broken.
2. Relies on "Slippage":
Big corporations often bank on "slippage"—customers forgetting to cancel their trials and getting charged. This strategy prioritizes profit over genuine customer relationships.
3. Harms Brand Authenticity:
Authentic brands are transparent and honest. Deceptive tactics undermine your brand’s integrity.
4. Creates Negative Sentiment:
Unexpected charges lead to frustration and negative reviews, damaging your brand image and customer loyalty.
5. Misses Long-term Loyalty:
Authentic interactions build long-term loyalty. Tricking customers into payments destroys potential lifelong relationships.
6. Ethical Concerns:
Marketing something as free when it isn’t is simply unethical. Brands should strive for honesty and integrity in all interactions.
7. Transparent Offers:
A truly free trial should be just that—free. No hidden charges, no strings attached. Transparency fosters trust and respect.
Brands, remember: relying on "slippage" and deceptive tactics might boost short-term profits but it erodes trust and damages your authenticity. Build your brand on transparency and honesty for long-term success.

One of the world's leading experts in branding said, "Forget the brand!"
Get this one thing right, and the brand will follow...
(Building a brand? You'll want to save this)
I recently caught "How To Build A Brand, Not Just A Business" with Omar El-Takrorii & Chris Do. (Link to the episode in the comments)
Here's the bit that caught my attention:
"There's something that I read from the late Tony Hsieh from his book 'Delivering Happiness,' and he said, 'Forget the brand'...
..and everybody's like, 'What? What do you mean, forget the brand?' He goes, 'Get the culture right; the brand will follow.'"
I preach culture, and this resonates like, dammit, he is right. This statement underscores a fundamental truth about branding that many overlook.
Here’s why a strong culture is crucial:
1. No company has a strong brand with a poor culture.
2. Culture sets the tone for every touchpoint.
3. Culture drives how employees interact with customers and each other.
4. One bad experience can undo years of customer loyalty.
5. A strong, consistent culture ensures that the brand remains intact as the company grows.
Nurture, grow, and guide a strong culture to shape your brand.
If you don't, your brand culture will develop on its own. Reshaping it later is much harder and more expensive than getting it right from the start.
Struggling with your brand? Remember, I'm just one DM away.
