Pilot Hall Engineer - Vehicle Electronics

Type of Position: The Pilot Hall Engineer (Vehicle Electronics – Shift Support) will be responsible for 1st level support of production (shift specific) with regards to vehicle electrics/electronics and the commissioning of equipment/devices. Vehicle electrics/electronics diagnosing will also be a requirement.

Job Description and Responsibilities
• Providing 1st level support to production for all vehicle electrics/electronic concerns
• Investigating build / audit related problems (root cause analysis, establishment and implementation of corrective actions)
• Basic IT skill (such as configuring IP addresses, setting up printer configurations etc.)
• Setup and maintenance of the universal testing equipment (production commissioning equipment)
• Software maintenance of the vehicle electronics diagnostic equipment for production
• Networking/Working with other departments

Education and Experience
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Have a minimum 3 years technical experience in the automotive industry

Skills, Attributes & Other requirements Essential:
• Experienced and extensive knowledge of the vehicle production process
• Know the vehicle electrical systems (brakes, airbag, lights etc)
• Knowledge on the vehicle communication bus (CAN bus)
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
• Have good analytical skills relevant to solving of vehicle build / audit related problems.
• Have good communication skills
• Must be a team player
• Required to work shifts and weekends
• Willing to be hands on
Advantageous:
• Have the ability to speak and read German – advantageous
• Trade – Auto Electrician
