On 1 April 2026, Dr Titus Mathe stepped into TIA's top office as the Technology Innovation Agency's new Chief Executive Officer. His first public act in the role wasn't a private induction; it was carrying TIA's voice at the Inaugural SA Innovation Week, reinforcing from day one that TIA is not just a funder but a catalyst for South Africa's innovators.

Dr Mathe set out the framework that would guide his first 100 days, the same one driving TIA 2.0:
