Meet Our Self-Defense Class Facilitator! 👊🏼
We’re excited to introduce Risha Patak Harie , founder of i-LEAD Self Defense NPO 218-034 , who will be facilitating our Rise Above Bullying Self-Defense Class.
Following a near-kidnapping in Johannesburg, Risha turned her experience into purpose by founding i-LEAD to empower women and children through self-defense and violence prevention education.

Since 2012, i-LEAD has grown into a globally recognized social organization, equipping individuals with the confidence and skills to stay safe. Risha is also a Brand South Africa Play Your Part Ambassador and a recipient of the 2022 Women Empowerment Award.

I chose to rise above the noise, even when the words online were not kind. Behind every post and every comment section, there is a real person with real feelings and my journey is a reminder that social media should be a space of encouragement, not harm.

This story speaks to so many young people who experience the weight of unkind words online and at school. It reminds us to think before we type, to choose kindness even when it feels easier not to, and to understand the impact our words can have on someone’s life.

I am proof that you can be challenged, tested, and misunderstood and still rise above it all.
