Today, I stand in solidarity with the nationwide shutdown against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide in South Africa. My heart is with every woman, girl, and gender-diverse person whose life has been touched, threatened, or taken by this ongoing crisis. We honour the memories of those we’ve lost and hold space for the countless survivors whose voices deserve to be heard and protected.

Working in music, I’ve witnessed how unsafe many studio environments can be for women. I’ve learned a lot from the women who’ve trusted me with their stories, and I remain committed to supporting safer, more respectful creative spaces. But today isn’t about me or my role. It’s about amplifying the voices of those directly affected and standing with them in the fight for safety, justice, and change.
