Osteoporosis is known as a "silent" condition because many people don’t realize their bones are weakening until they experience a painful fracture from a minor fall, or even just a hard sneeze.
The good news? You don’t have to wait for a break to find out where you stand. A Bone Density Scan (DEXA scan) is a quick, completely painless, non-invasive test that acts like a roadmap for your skeletal health. It uses ultra-low radiation (even less than a standard chest X-ray!) to check your bone strength, usually in your hips and spine.
Who should consider speaking to their doctor about booking a scan?
👩🦱 Women aged 65 and older / Men aged 70 and older.
🕒 Postmenopausal women under 65 with risk factors (like a family history of osteoporosis).
🦴 Anyone over 50 who has recently broken a bone from a minor injury.
💊 Individuals taking certain long-term medications (like corticosteroids). Your mobility and independence are worth protecting.
Invest in your future self—ask your healthcare provider if it’s time for a baseline bone density scan! 🗓️✨

With many respiratory illnesses circulating, you might find yourself with a persistent cough or chest discomfort. If your doctor orders a chest X-ray, it’s not always cause for alarm—it’s a powerful tool to help them see exactly what’s happening inside your lungs.
Why it’s a key step in your care:
🩻Confirming the Diagnosis: It helps rule out or confirm conditions like pneumonia, where the air sacs in your lungs may be filled with fluid or inflammation.
🩻Assessing Severity: It gives your doctor a clear, visual map of how much of the lung is affected, which helps determine the right treatment plan.
🩻Speed & Accuracy: Chest X-rays are fast, non-invasive, and provide immediate, high-quality images that your physician can use to make informed decisions quickly.
🩻Monitoring Progress: If you’re already under care, a follow-up X-ray can show how well your lungs are healing.
Your health is our priority. If you've been sent for an X-ray, our team is here to provide the clear images your doctor needs to get you back on the road to recovery.

It’s officially Men’s Health Month—a great time to talk about the "tough it out" mentality. 🛠️👟
𝗪𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹: You tweak your knee on the soccer field, feel a pull in your back while working on a home project, or ignore that nagging ankle pain after a long run. Your first instinct? Just "walk it off" and hope it feels better by Monday.
𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Small, untreated injuries often lead to bigger, long-term problems. What feels like a minor ache today could be a ligament strain or a hairline fracture that needs proper care to heal correctly.
Radiology isn't just about big accidents; it’s about taking control of your health so you can stay in the game, on the field, and at work for the long haul.
Don’t let a lingering ache become a season-ending injury. Get it checked. 🦴

We know that coming in for a scan can feel a bit overwhelming, so we’re here to make the process as smooth as possible. 🕊️
While we are will always provide a gown, these tips below can make the process smoother.
1️⃣ Go Metal-Free: If possible, leave jewelry, underwire bra, metal accessories, and items with zippers at home. It’s safer for the equipment and faster for you!
2️⃣ Bring a Buddy: If you must bring valuables, please leave them with a loved one who is accompanying you.
3️⃣ Speak Up: Always, always inform your radiographer if you are—or think you might be—pregnant.
