🐍 Not all students attend training because they have to. Some attend because they genuinely want to know more.

On Saturday, we had the pleasure of presenting a Snake Identification, Handling & Snakebite Treatment course to members of the West Rand Herpetological Association in Roodepoort, Gauteng.

This was a slightly different group to many of our corporate courses. These delegates weren't attending because of a workplace requirement or compliance obligation. They were there because of a shared passion for snakes, wildlife conservation, and responsible snake management.

Some attended to meet permit requirements. Some wanted to improve their snakebite preparedness. Others wanted help identifying species more accurately. And many simply wanted to deepen their understanding of snake behaviour and handling techniques.

What made the day particularly enjoyable was the quality of the discussions. When you bring together a room full of people who actively work with, photograph, rescue, relocate, or study snakes, the learning becomes a two-way process.

Questions become deeper. Conversations become richer. And everyone leaves knowing a little more than when they arrived.

Throughout the day we covered:
🔍 Snake identification and distinguishing features
🐍 Understanding snake behaviour and defensive responses
🩹 Practical snakebite first aid and emergency management
🪝 Safe and ethical snake handling principles
⚖️ Permit considerations and responsible wildlife interactions

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to an outstanding day of learning, discussion, and practical training.

We're already looking forward to seeing many of you again in the field.
