African Impact - Livingstone Community Projects

African fabric, locally called chitenge, is full of color and culture. We love doing market runs with our volunteers so they can pick out their favorite prints and get them made into custom outfits.

It’s more than fabric - it’s a way to connect with local culture and support local tailors.

The volunteers get 3 meals a day from Monday to Friday, so our lovely chefs Judy and mama Josephine made another lunch for us. On the menu was a poke bowl with lots of healthy veggies and rice.

One of the topics we discus with all our Girl Impact classes is self-esteem. It's important to discuss and promote this to the girls, as it is one of the bases of their well-being. Throughout the curriculum, we focus on things such as self-confidence, taking responsibility and accepting compliments.
