TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES!

When Moses came upon a bush that was burning but not getting consumed, he was very curious to find out why it was not getting consumed. But when he started to investigate, God told him, "Do not come any closer, take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground." (Exodus 3:5, NLT).

• We take off our shoes at the door because we don't want THE FILTHINESS of the outside inside the house.

Moses was about to enter a new door of his life. He had entered two great doors already, and was about to enter the third most important door of his life.

1. DOOR INTO THE PALACE - when he entered this door, he was required to leave his SHOES OF SLAVERY, and wear the new SHOES OF COMFORT to enjoy the privileges of a prince.

2. DOOR INTO THE WILDERNESS - when he left the comfort of the palace for the purpose of his life, he was required to LEAVE THE THINKING OF A PRINCE and ADOPT THE THINKING OF A SHEPHERD to survive in the wilderness.

3. DOOR INTO MINISTRY - now, about to enter a door into God's presence and ministry, he is required to put off the filthiness of the palace and the wilderness, before he can proceed further, and become a successful deliverer.

SHOES TELL A STORY. They tell a story of where you have been, the challenges and opportunities you've faced. Moses was required to forget all the PREVIOUS WAYS he had walked and follow THE WAY OF THE BURNING BUSH.

• Shoes are a representation of your IDEOLOGIES and EXPERIENCES - your walk in life so far.

Before God could give Joshua a strategy on how to bring down Jericho, He had to tell him to take off his shoes first. Joshua had to surrender his ideologies and experiences to God's omniscience, and power (Joshua 5).

• Sadly, many have treaded on HOLY GROUND with DIRTY SHOES.

CHRISTIANITY IS A HOLY GROUND. Before you can fully experience the joys of Christianity you must let go of the filth of the world.

MINISTRY IS A HOLY GROUND. Before God can use you, you have to unlearn all the unholy methods of the world, and let go of worldly lifestyles.

MARRIAGE IS A HOLY GROUND. Before you can make a success of your marriage, you have to put off the SHOES OF SINGLEHOOD.

A couple makes a mess of marriage when they continue to live as though they are single.

And singles make a mess of their relationships when they begin to live as though they are married.

We need to understand SHOES & DOORS. We must take off our old dirty shoes before we can enter a new door of life. If you don't take off your shoes, you won't receive the REVELATION and ASSISTANCE you need, for RELEVANCE and EFFECTIVENESS in that area of life.

Unless we take off our shoes, WE CANNOT GO FAR WITH GOD.

Unless we take off our shoes, WE CANNOT KNOW THE POTENTIAL OF WHAT WE HOLD IN OUR HANDS.

Unless we take off our shoes, WE CANNOT AMOUNT TO MUCH IN LIFE.

So let us all take off our shoes, and TRUST IN GOD, not our experiences or lean on our own understanding. Let us let go of the filth of our past. LET US DRAW NEAR TO GOD WITH BARE FEET - NO CARRY OVERS FROM THE PAST.
