SIX THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN ABOUT TO BUILD.

- 1* Get Your Documents Ready*:

Ensure you have your title deed and survey diagram. If you're still waiting for your title deed, have the seller's title deed and your contract of sale ready.

-2 *Assess Your Plot*:

Check the soil type and levelness of your land. If your land is sloped, consider hiring a land surveyor. Also, determine if your plot is serviced with national water supply pipes and sewer access.

- 3* Create a Design Brief*:

Outline your requirements and preferences for your home design. Prioritize practicality based on your lifestyle, plot size, and budget.

- 4*Plan Your Budget*:

Determine your budget and consider financing options. Get a material's schedule to break down costs and quantities of materials needed.

-5 *Choose the Right Builder*:

Select a reliable and experienced builder. Check their previous work, ask for references, and ensure they're registered with the National Council for Construction.

-6 *Obtain Necessary Approvals*:

Get council approval for your building plans. Submit your plans to the relevant council and pay scrutiny and evaluation fees, stage inspection fees, and occupancy certificate fees.
