TONIGHT WE ARE LOOKING AT SPEED TIME GRAPH.
QUESTION.
A car start from rest and accelerate uniformly to 20m/s in 5s. And it accelerate more to 40m/s in 2s, then deccelerate until it come to rest in 5s.
(a) Draw a speed time graph
(b) Calculate the acceleration of the during its first 5s.
(c) Calculate the total distance travelled by the car.
(d) Calculate the average speed of the car.
SOLUTIONS
(a) Check the graph on the photos attached
(b) a= (V-U) / t
DATA
V = 20m/s
U = 0m/s
t = 5s
a = (20m/s - 0m/s) / 5s
a = 20m/s / 5s
a = 4m/s*
C. Total distance can be calculated by finding the total area under the graph. For that reason we are going to devid the graph into angles so that we easily find the area under the angles and then add up the areas to make total area under the graph which shall be the total distance.

(A) TRIANGLE A
Area = half x Lxh
A = 0.5 x 5 x 20
A = 50M
(B) TRAPEZIUM B
Area = half x (a+b) x h
A = 0.5 x (20+40) x 2
A = 0.5 x 60 x 2
A = 0.5 x 120
A = 60M
(C) TRIANGLE C
Area = half x L x h
A = 0.5 x 5 x 40
A = 0.5 x 200
A = 100M
Total Area under the graph equals to total distance travelled.
A = 50 + 60 + 100
A = 210M
Total Distance = 210M
(c) Average speed
Av Speed = total distance / total time taken
Av Speed = 210m / 12s
Av Speed = 17.5m/s

TODAY WE ARE LOOKING AT ECOLOGY.
The word ecology came from a Greek word OIKOS which means "place or house".
Therefore ecology can be defined as the study of living and non living organism in relation to their environment.
In ecology living organisms can also be called Biotic while non living organisms can be called as Abiotic.
The place where an organism live in an environment is called Habitat.
There are two type of Habitat where organism can live according to Biology and these include Terrestrial and Aquatic habitat.
Terrestrial Habitat: This is a type habitat found on land while Aquatic habitat is the type of habitat found in water.
In an ecosystem, the ecologists believe that every organism have a role to play in an ecosystem within there habitats and this role is called an Ecological Niche.
Because of ecological niche, organisms in an ecosystem does not live in isolation but depend on each other as a source of energy hence it is very important to protect all organisms in every environment because they are all useful in an ecosystem.
