PARLIAMENT DECLARES 9 PF SEATS VACANT
In a dramatic turn of events, the Zambian Parliament has declared 9 seats held by the Patriotic Front (PF) party as vacant.
The second Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly announced the declaration, citing constitutional provisions and electoral laws.
The affected members are Pambashe, Lupososhi, Kawambwa, Kamfinsa, Chitambo, Mporokoso, Shiwang'andu, Chilubi and Lunte Constituencies.
This follows the expulsion of the Members of Parliament by the Miles Sampa led Patriotic Front-PF last year.
This means the electoral commission of Zambia ECZ will have to organize by-elections in the affected constituencies as submitted by parliament.
