If your house is registered in a company name please do not forget to re-register it before the deadline set by government. Remember the implications as advised at the Stanbic webinar notes we shared. You will not be able to apply for the new title deeds.

2) With all the power surges when electricity comes on and off during load shedding periods, please invest in good surge protectors for all appliances, swimming pool pump, alarm system, borehole pumps etc.

3) Accounting and record keeping: Keep and expenses file for whatever you spend on the property. Construction costs, professional services, renovations costs etc.
Also remember to include caretaker/ gardener wages - keeping a log book where they sign monthly is strongly encouraged.
You will need this file for your income tax declarations and if you ever decide to sell - for cgt calculations if your property was bought after February 2019.
