For the benefit of those having virtual interviews.

Online interviews are more or less the same with an interview you attend physically.

Preparation on content relevant to the job must be same.

However, you need to have a good connection or network and sufficient data to avoid calls dropping etc.

Have the appropriate gadget preferably a laptop because of its maneuverability. Smartphones can be good but I find them too small as you have to hold in in your hands or place it somewhere e.g against something to support it.

Treat it like any other interview. Dress appropriately as you may be asked to turn on your video.

Don't try to cheat by googling information during the interview session.

Always make sure the camera focus gives a good picture output and your face is visible.

Make sure your hair is neatly combed. Identify a place with a solid background/one color.......face the window so that your face is visible to the people interviewing you.

Know how to use mute and when to unmute.

Avoid places where there is noise or interruptions.

Speak loudly as sometimes the people on the other said may not be able to hear you.

Dont forget to research about the following as a starting point;

The company overview

Services/products offered

Your individual career aspirations.

Your individual strengths and weaknesses etc.

Ensure you calm and composed. Don't put yourself under pressure. Be yourself.
