The market closed mixed as the ZSE recorded a slight decline, with the All Share Index shedding 0.60%, while the VFEX fell 4.85%. Tanganda led the gainers on the ZSE, while Caledonia posted a strong performance on the VFEX.

First quarter mineral sales rake in US$1 billion: Zimbabwe's mineral sector recorded a strong first-quarter performance following Government’s bold decision to ban exports of unbeneficiated minerals. Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe (MMCZ) figures show that the performance surpassed figures recorded during the same period last year by 27% in volumes and 79% in value.

The strong growth in lithium and platinum sales continues to reinforce Zimbabwe’s growing role in the global minerals value chain and broader industrialisation agenda.
