When applying for a job using an email make sure to do this:

*1) in the subject line of the email indicate the vacancy you are applying for e.g*

"Application for the position of Sales Clerk/ Student on Attachment - ICT vacancy"

This will assist the Recruiter to know which vacancy you are applying for because we get thousands of CVs and it's easy to select the ones labeled.

Even if the Recruiter filter/search them by vacancy applied for, they will pop up.

Those without proper labeling will be left and that's how some people end up not being shortlisted or selected to attend interviews and they start blaming nepotism, evil spirits and many more yet they don't follow simple application procedures.

One other thing rename your CV by giving it a title e.g *CV for Tendai Gondo* rather than labeling it as "CV" only.

Going forward we expect applicants to take note of the following observations we made;

*-* when applying always read the advert in its entirety and follow the application procedures as stipulated.

*-* include the vacancy you are applying for in the subject of your email e.g *"Application for the position of Product Development Officer"*. This assists when the Recruiter searches for such applications as he/she may be dealing with multiple vacancies which means they have to *filter applications* by job/vacancy applied for. If your email lack the subject, one can miss it.

*-* before sending your email, always double check if the documents required have attached properly. Often applicants forget to attach the required documents.

*-* check if you have captured correctly the email of the recipient. Many at times the applications does not reach the intended recipient.

*-* always ensure the documents attached can open on other computers or are not corrupted. It is recommended to save the CV in PDF format.

*-* label/ rename your CV with your name and surname e.g. "CV for Diego Maradona" instead of labelling it as "CV" only.

The list is not exhaustive but these are some of the basics which can assist both the Candidate and Recruiter.
