At our last feminist gathering we had the pleasure of watching and listening to historian and archivist Joyce Jenje Makwenda as she presented her research on the history of Zimbabwean women leaders in politics.
The role that women have played in liberation movements across the world is often downplayed because of patriarchal systems. As we are celebrating our 46th Independence Day let us remember to learn the role women played in the fight for freedom. Also looking to the present and future generations of leaders.

Something to think on as we continue to celebrate women’s month is how the entire structures of social media work against movements that young feminists are trying to build. Does their content get as much traction as other kinds of content or is it deliberately hushed down? Barriers to rights and justice might also be actively playing out in the online world.

there’s so much to say about this powerhouse of a pearl. We would like to congratulate Bridgetti Mambondiani on completing the first phase of an exchange working at Equal Education as a programs officer under the Office of the General Secretary. Bridgetti also had the pleasure of delivering the homecoming speech at the home coming ceremony held from the 15th to the 21st of February.
Over the years we have witnessed this Pada pearl display growth and achieve success on different fronts and this was no exception. We say to you Bridgetti upwards and onwards, we’re rooting for you! 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
