In 3 days I return for the first time to the land of Éire where my ancestors, ‘ mo sinsear’, were forced to leave in the mid 1800s
After 7 years of ancestral healing I am finally ready.
During these years, mo sinsear held me while I shed their tears, birthed their grief, screamed their anger and rage, released the unwell ancestors, danced and healed and forgave and felt every imaginable emotion in my body they had suppressed during their oppression and forced migration.

As I pack to return, Im reflecting on what it was like for them to prepare to leave their lands to come to Australia- a 4 month boat journey not a 20 hour flight.

They must have held hope for their journey away from suffering and hunger and injustice just as I hold hope that my landing home to the land of my blood and bone will restore to our lineage the blessings and healings and rebalance from Éire that was always rightfully ours.
