CASE #1:

A 2020 clinical trial has shed light on the potential benefits of nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) in promoting healthy aging. NMN is a compound involved in cellular energy production and has been found to increase cellular levels of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), which plays a crucial role in various biological processes.

In this study, 10 healthy Japanese men participated in a trial to assess the safety and effects of a single oral dose of NMN. The results were incredibly promising! The participants experienced no significant adverse effects or changes in vital signs such as heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, or body temperature.

Laboratory analyses revealed only minor fluctuations within the normal ranges, including increased serum bilirubin levels and decreased serum creatinine, chloride, and blood glucose levels.

Interestingly, the administration of NMN led to dose-dependent increases in the levels of NMN metabolites, namely N-methyl-2-pyridone-5-carboxamide and N-methyl-4-pyridone-5-carboxamide, indicating effective metabolism of NMN in the participants' bodies.

These findings suggest that NMN can be safely administered orally and has the potential to serve as a therapeutic strategy for mitigating ageing-related disorders in humans.
