A Homecoming.
With Mother’s Day coming up, I found myself reflecting on the things we inherit emotionally before we even understand them.
Some children learn to stay strong too early. To carry emotions that were never theirs to carry.
What our mothers couldn’t face… we inherited.
What you carry isn’t always yours… but it may be yours to heal.
Perhaps healing begins when we finally allow ourselves to feel. 🤍
Life is meant to be lived… not chased.
What are you running after that’s pulling you away from yourself?
#
You’re not lost…
You’re remembering who you are.
Somewhere between survival and becoming…
you forgot.
Now you’re remembering.
#
Healing isn’t outside of you.
It starts with coming back home to yourself.
# # growth mindset
You spent so long trying to belong…
until you realised you were never meant to fit in.
# growth innerwork belonging
You don’t notice it at first…
the shift.
the distance.
the quiet disconnection from yourself.
And before you realise it…
you’ve learned to live without parts of who you are.
Stay tuned… the signs are subtle. #
Migrant children don’t lose themselves overnight…
it happens quietly.
At home, they’re one person.
Outside, they become another.
And somewhere in between…
they start to forget who they truly are.
If you’ve ever felt like you don’t fully belong anywhere… this is for you
Migration is often spoken about as opportunity.
Better jobs.
A better life.
A chance to support family back home.
But there is another side that is rarely discussed.
The silent pressure.
The expectations.
The loneliness.
The emotional weight many men carry quietly while trying to survive abroad.
In this upcoming series, we will begin to explore the untold emotional stories many men carry after migration — stories that are rarely spoken about, but deeply felt.
